"I think these writers were high on Undoween when they decided to write this stuff"

Over the next seven hours, Alice, a struggling actor, attempts to film an audition tape for a well-known fantasy TV show that may well change her life forever, however, this process turns out to be far from easy as Alice encounters a plethora of problems to contend with. A visit from a heavily pregnant super-fan of a celebrity magician prompts Alice to question her values and priorities as she embarks on her audition preparation. Alice is confronted by the question - Are dreams always worth pursuing? And if they are, what should they cost...?

Escapology is a one act play about confinement, connection, magic, make believe and the prospect of meeting one’s heroes. It is the debut play from Stewart Lockwood.
