Counting Headlights is a one-woman play about Emily, a young girl growing up in Morecambe. Emily, in her eyes, has a perfectly normal childhood - juice boxes, car seats, and days when Dad just won’t come down stairs. The audience are left to discover for themselves, with Emily as their only narrator, the reality of her childhood.
Counting Headlights plays with form and perspective to explore the difference between the very adult way we react to mental health, and the hard lines that are drawn when a child comes into the picture.
