In this modern, busy world stress, worry and anxiety are a part of many peoples lives. Whether we experience these at work, home, on the road or with no apparent reason they can leave us in conflict in ourselves and are debilitating. So what causes these states? If we check clearly we will see that these unpleasant states arise because we identify the wrong object as the cause of our suffering. When things go wrong in our lives and we experience problems we generally identify the external problem as the cause of our suffering. However when we understand clearly the difference between outer and inner problems we will begin to develop the space and clarity to understand that outer problems in themselves have no power to cause us pain. It is our habitual reactions to problems rather than the problems themselves that cause our experiences of stress, anxiety and worry.
By beginning to understand Buddha’s teachings we can develop the confidence and strength to abandon these painful states from the inside out. With control over our mind and the wisdom understanding that happiness and suffering are states of mind we will be able to meet all the challenges of life with an open and light heart.
This workshop also presents the perfect opportunity to learn to meditate, or for those already meditating, to enhance their practice.
It is comprised of two sessions which include guided meditations and a talk, with a break in the middle for afternoon tea.
